BlueMind Stable 3.0.8 has been released and is available on our repository.

BlueMind 3.0.8 is packed with enhancements and corrections, most notably regarding stability and RAM usage.

[h]Reminders[/h]
Installing a subscription key (along with the bm-setup-wizard package) is mandatory to upgrade a BlueMind installation.
Minimum RAM requirement is 4Go, but more RAM may prove necessary in production depending on your user base (mobile devices in particular) and the way they use BlueMind.

[h]New feature: web notifications on incoming mails and upcoming events[/h]
Recent browsers offer notification capabilities, and we now make good use of it with non-intrusive mail alerts and events reminders.

[h]New feature: remote wipe of a stolen device[/h]
When a business phone goes lost or stolen, an administrator can now remotely wipe it out from the administration console.
CAUTION: all data on the mobile device will be erased! Contacts, pictures, messages, everything, whether business or personal.

[h]Integration notes[/h]

bm-pimp

bm-pimp is a new utility which automatically allocates a dedicated server RAM to BlueMind java components (single server setup only). It is started automatically along with BlueMind services, but configuration overriding is still possible.

Nginx

BlueMind notifications to recent browsers make use of websockets. A websocket-aware server is now necessary, and we package nginx 1.6.0 to make sure it is available on all platforms. When BlueMind is serving behind a third-party proxy which does not support websockets, notifications will use a fallback mechanism which is less efficient.
Nginx needs to be started manually after a BlueMind 3.0.8 installation on Ubuntu Lucid and Debian Squeeze: this behavior will be fixed in the next release.

Logging

Overloading of the default logging configuration can be performed in /etc/bm/local/.log.xml (default configuration is located in /etc/bm/default/.log.xml).

We wish you a pleasant install/upgrade!
